Our Rosso Toscana IGT has a new name: La Quinta
Born in 2011 to join our much-prized Brunello di Montalcino, IGT Toscana Rosso has been given a new name, emerging from the very soil that bears its vines. La Quinta (“the fifth”) is, in fact, the fifth vineyard planted by Carlo Ferrini in Montalcino, and starting with the 2018 vintage, all his Rosso Toscana IGT bottles will bear that name as well.
Lying at an altitude of 400 meters, in soils rich in clay and pebbles with a southeast exposure, La Quinta fully lives up to its creator’s expectations: “To join our Brunello di Montalcino, I wanted another great expression of pure, elegant Sangiovese from this growing area, one with a more immediate character, but with the same superb elegance”. And, voilà, La Quinta 2018, the very embodiment of refinement, utterly true to its terroir.
